I’ve put a panel into SXSW 2027: Robotaxis Are Coming: Five Decisions Your City Must Make. SXSW decides part of its programming by public vote, and that vote is open now… but closes on Sunday, 23 August 2026.
Here’s the link.
Voting will takes about forty seconds, most of which is creating a PanelPicker account. I’m sorry about that requirement, but I ask that you hate the game, not the player.
The session takes the arguments I’ve often made here at Changing Lanes and presents them in the form of a a readiness playbook: the five decisions a city has to make before the first driverless car arrives, what’s at stake, and how to choose well. It aims to help civic leaders understand how to ensure that driving automation gives the most benefit to the cities where it is deployed.
If you have ten seconds beyond the vote, leave a comment. This matters more than the vote does. A review committee makes the final call, and a sentence from someone who would benefit from the contents, like “we’re dealing with exactly these issues,” “I’d attend this session,” or so forth, carries even more weight.
That’s it, that’s the whole ask. Here’s that link again, one last time.
Thank you for your help!
